who we help
"There should be a Dr. Husted in every town. She gives excellent care and I can call her at any time. It's because of Dr. Husted that we were able to bring Billy home. Since returning, Billy is back up to his normal weight, and he smiles when she comes to see him."
Rose Barber, mother of Billy Barber, disabled due to a car accident

Physician house calls
Welcome to Housecall Providers, Inc. (HPI)-the only nonprofit primary care medical practice in the Portland metropolitan area to provide in-home physician and nurse practitioner services to homebound seniors and persons with disabilities.
Housecall Providers is a non-profit organization of medical professionals who provide the quality, proactive primary medical care that homebound adults need to experience healthful lives in their own homes or place of residence. Incorporated in 1995, we deliver in-home physician and nurse practitioner services to seniors and persons with disabilities. We made 10,694 visits during fiscal year 2008 - 2009.
Because of our services, our patients have access to medical care that often gives them the opportunity to remain in a home environment and maintain their dignity, surrounded by familiar comfort and care, regardless of whether it is in their own home, the home of a relative, an adult foster home or assisted living. The need is great
According to 2000 census data, there are more than 29,000 (approximately 19%) persons over the age of 65 in the Portland tri-county area (Multnomah, Clackamas and Washington counties). In Multnomah County alone over 14,000 people older than 65 are homebound due to the complications of aging. This number will continue to grow, as will the need for home medical services.
No Housecall Provider patient will be denied primary medical care due to lack of insurance. Your contribution is an opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of our patients and our community.
If you or a family member would benefit from in-home medical care, we are here to help.
HOSPICE VOLUNTEERS WANTED
Housecall Providers Hospice program will begin a new volunteer training series on October 6. We are seeking a group of dedicated volunteers to join us.
Housecall Providers is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that brings primary care medical housecalls to homebound seniors and people with disabilities throughout the Portland metro area. Our hospice program serves our own patients who are near the end of life. Our goal is help our patients remain in their homes and communities with high-quality care, pain management and family support.
Hospice volunteers will receive comprehensive training with all the information they will need to be comfortable and prepared for their role. They perform a range of services that may include friendly visiting, reading to a patient, housekeeping, running errands, or providing respite care and family support. Volunteers with all kinds of special skills, such as barbering/hair styling, massage or playing music are also needed. Volunteers of all ages are welcome. Housecall Providers will support our volunteers through individual and group meetings and debriefings.
Hospice patients are seen in their homes. Visits are scheduled at the mutual convenience of the volunteer, patient and family. Training will be in the Housecall Providers office on SE Belmont St, over three consecutive evenings, for a total of twelve hours.
